Past recipients have included the Cherokee Heights Middle School Food Pantry, Madison Empowering Girl's Advancement, and Just Dane. OCTOBER INGATHERING:
TRIANGLE COMMUNITY MINISTRY Triangle Community Ministry (TCM) serves over 300 residents living in the Triangle Neighborhood of Madison (the area bordered by W. Washington Ave., Regent St. and Park St.). Most of the residents are challenged by chronic mental, emotional, physical and/or developmental disabilities. TCM is dedicated to the development of personal dignity, self-empowerment and community building among its residents. TCM encourages and supports participation within the broader community, provides holistic health services at no cost and is an inclusive ministry that does not discriminate. TCM is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors (including St. Andrew’s member Judy Mills) and develops relationships with generous donors to support vulnerable members of the community. TCM partners with St. Mary’s Health to provide an onsite nurse to assist residents with multiple health and wellness concerns. The nurse provides needed services for residents, many of whom are living with multiple physical or mental issues. In non-pandemic times, TCM’s outreach development coordinator and board provide opportunities for residents to learn, meet neighbors, socialize, create art and live rich, fulfilling lives. Many residents have lived in their homes for a decade or longer and TCM provides them with a safe, secure environment to age in place. With sensitivity to residents’ varied religious and non-religious commitments, the TCM chaplain provides a personal ministry of presence to ease the strain faced by residents in their daily lives.
