The Rev. Andy Jones

Rector

Father Andy came to Madison in 2006 to become the tenth Rector of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Fr. Andy grew up in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC and graduated from Juniata College in 1982 with a BA in music and philosophy. He has worked as a professional musician, as a guitar and violin repairman, and as a sign language interpreter. He was a stay at home dad for seven years before entering The Virginia Theological Seminary where he graduated with honors in 2002. Before coming to Madison he served at All Saints Episcopal Church in Frederick Maryland as the Assistant to the Rector. Fr. Andy and his wife Suzanne have been married for thirty three years and have two sons. He enjoys playing the guitar, fly fishing, and tai chi.

The Rev. Melesa McEwan Skoglund

Associate Rector

​Mother Melesa joined the St. Andrew's community as Associate Rector in June 2019, after graduating from Virginia Theological Seminary. A Colorado native, Melesa first moved to Wisconsin in 2010 where she worked in nonprofit programs and operations. When not busy chasing her toddler son, Melesa can be found experimenting with sourdough baking and exploring coffee shops and breweries with her husband.

Ken Stancer

Music Director

Ken has served St. Andrew’s as music director and organist since August 2002. Ken received a Bachelor of Music degree from UW-Whitewater in 1986 and a Master of Music degree from UW-Madison in 2002. He teaches organ and recorder privately, and also teaches Suzuki piano at the Monroe Street Arts Center in Madison. He is also active as a celtic harpist, playing concerts with Alice Kissling at assisted living facilities in the Madison area. Ken is a member of the American Guild of Organists, the International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftsmen, and the Suzuki Association of the Americas. Outside of music, his interests are swimming, biking, environmental protection issues, gardening and healthy and eco-friendly living.

Ruth Kearley

Children's Ministries Coordinator

Ruth became the Children's Ministries Coordinator in 2005. With the support of many parents and other parishioners, she organizes Sunday morning Christian formation programs and seasonal activities for children from three years old through 5th grade. She has participated in workshops on Young Children and Worship, Godly Play, and 21st Century Faith Formation, and has attended several conferences on Christian formation. She has been a member of St. Andrew's since 2001, shortly after moving to Madison for graduate school. She received an M.S. in environmental studies and spends part of her summers managing volunteers for monitoring an endangered prairie butterfly, the regal fritillary.
