Serve with St. Andrew's

There are countless ways that St. Andrew's members act as the hands and feet of Christ in the world both inside and beyond the walls of our parish. The opportunities linked in our Ministry Yellow Pages are simply a starting point. Here are a few of those opportunities:

Outreach Committee
The mission of the Outreach Committee is to increase both awareness of and commitment to outreach among our fellow parishioners, in the belief that ministries of compassion and justice are intrinsic to God's call and plan in Christ for all people. Members of the committee meet to determine how to direct funds collected during our monthly Ingatherings and mobilize the St. Andrew’s community for outreach.
Time Commitment: Once every 4–8 weeks

Social Justice Team
The Social Justice Team was founded in 2024 with the goal of working on issues like structural racism, criminal justice reform, and reducing gun violence, together with other Episcopal parishes and other like-minded groups. So far our energies have been focused primarily on learning what we can do to assist our neighbors (especially immigrants and LGBTQ+ folks) whose security is threatened by current policies. We have also sponsored an evening workshop on community organizing and provided information and materials in the Parish Hall for writing letters to elected officials.
Time Commitment: Monthly one-hour meeting plus some optional events

Healing Prayer Team
The Healing Prayer Team prays during Communion at the later Sunday service for specific prayer requests made either in advance or in person. Prayer requests may be as detailed or as general as is comfortable for the petitioner, and are treated with complete confidentiality. Healing prayer ministers work in teams of two. Training is provided.
Time Commitment: Once every 3–5 weeks
